Data protection

Dear user,

Thank you for your interest in our company’s website. Protecting your personal data is very important to us, and so we would like to take this opportunity to inform you about data protection at our company. Naturally, we comply with European and national data protection regulations.

You can trust us with your personal data. Data is encrypted and sent to us using digital security systems. Technical systems protect our websites against damage, destruction and unauthorised access. Nonetheless, we must advise that online data transmission (e.g. e-mail communication) may be subject to security flaws. Unfortunately, we cannot ensure complete protection of data against access by third parties.

Subject of data protection

The subject of data protection is personal data. Personal data is individual details about personal or material relationships of an identified or identifiable natural person. These include details such as names, postal addresses, e-mail addresses and telephone numbers, as well as, where applicable, usage data such as your IP address.

General data protection notice

When you access Dr. Rothenberger Holding GmbH’s website or download data from our websites, we store and process information about this in a log file. This is done anonymously. You cannot be identified.

We store your IP address, the data and time at which you accessed the website, the website accessed or the name of the file, the volume of data transmitted and a message as to whether the access was successful.

This data is not used for commercial purposes. Analysis is conducted only for statistical processing and to improve our online presence. To do this, we create user profiles under a pseudonym. No link is made between the person behind the pseudonym and the usage data collected. Your data is deleted after it has been used for this purpose. It is not stored permanently. You can object to this data collection, storage and processing at any time.

Data privacy statement for the use of Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies. These are text files stored on your computer that allow us to analyse website usage. For example, they collect information on your operating system, browser, IP address, the website that you previously viewed (referrer URL) and the date and time of your visit to our website. The information about the use of our website generated by these text files is generally transmitted to a Google server in the US, where it is then stored. If, however, IP anonymisation is activated on this website, Google will first shorten your IP address within a Member State of the European Union or another Contracting Party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of our website, to compile reports on website activity for the website operators and to provide additional services related to the use of the website and web usage. If required by law or if third parties process these data on behalf of Google, Google will also send this information to these third parties. This is done anonymously or using a pseudonym. The IP address sent by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with other data held by Google. You can find more information directly from Google at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en-GB#information.

Only the Internet protocol address is stored, i.e. no direct personal data of the user. This information allows us to recognise you automatically when you next visit our website and helps make it easier for you to navigate. For example, cookies allow us to tailor a website to match your interests or to store your password so that you do not have to re-enter it each time.

Google uses the DoubleClick DART cookie. You can deactivate the use of the DART cookie by going to the data protection regulations of the advertising network and Google’s content advertising network.

You can prevent cookies from being stored by changing the settings for your browser software. However, please note that you may then not be able to use all of the functions of this website in full. You can also prevent the data generated by the cookie that relates to your use of the website (including your IP address) from being sent to and processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB.

Please note that data protection regulations and use, for example at Google, are subject to change. You are therefore advised to keep up to date with changes in statutory provisions and company practices, e.g. of Google.

Data privacy statement for the use of Facebook plugins

Plugins for the social media Facebook (Facebook Inc., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, California, 94025, USA) are integrated on our website. You can recognise Facebook plugins on our site as they display the Facebook logo or the “like button”. An overview of Facebook plugins can be found at http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.

When you visit our site, the plugin generates a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. This informs Facebook that you have visited our website with your IP address. If you click Facebook’s “like button” while you are logged in to your Facebook account, you can link the content on our website to your Facebook profile. Facebook can then link the visit to our website with your user account. Please note that, as the site provider, we are not informed of the content of the data transmitted or its use by Facebook. You can find more information on this in Facebook’s Data Policy at https://www.facebook.com/policy.php

If you do not want Facebook to link the visit to our website with your Facebook user account, please log out of your Facebook user account.

Scope of data collection and storage

You do not generally have to provide any personal data to use our website. However, we may require personal data for certain services. This applies to sending informational material or goods that you have ordered and to responding to individual inquiries.

When possible, the collection of any personal data (such as name, address or e-mail address) on our website is voluntary.

Unless you have expressly agreed to your data being used for further purposes, after the contract has been processed in full, your data is blocked and deleted once regulations under tax and commercial law expire. If you use your e-mail address to subscribe to our newsletter, we will use your e-mail address for reasons beyond performing the contract for our own advertising purposes until you unsubscribe from the newsletter.

Use of data for a specific purpose

We observe the principle of using data for a specific purpose and collect, process and store your personal data only for the purposes of which you have informed us. Your personal data is not passed on to third parties without your express consent, unless this is required in order to perform the service or the contract. Furthermore, it is sent to authorised public institutions and authorities only within the scope of statutory disclosure obligations or if a court order obliges us to disclose information.

We also take internal data protection very seriously. Our employees and the service providers we commission are bound by a duty of confidentiality and obliged to comply with data protection regulations. Our employees attend regular data protection training sessions.

Right to information and right of revocation

You can receive information about the data we have stored about you free of charge at any time, without having to state the reason. You can have the data we have collected about you blocked, rectified or deleted at any time. You can also revoke your consent to data collection and use at any time, without stating the reason for doing so. Please contact the contact address given in the legal notice. If you have any further questions about our information on the protection and processing of your personal data, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.
